Söğüt Village

Is one of the most un-spoilt villages you will find along the coast of Turkey and is a place where some of the old cultures are still practiced today.  There is also a uniqueness of an aroma in the air from its locally grown foods.  Sea food caught locally is brought to the restaurants and hotels along the bay shore line.

The two most popular restaurants  are found on the shores edge to the north of the bay.  As you approach the furthest left it is called "Captain's Table".  The restaurant offers a small but newly built jetty with the normal tailed mooring lines, electricity, water and WLAN.  It is has up to 12 rooms and is a family run business  offering fresh home cooking.

The other restaurant is called the "Octopus Restaurant" and can berth a total of up to 25 yachts although it is worth watching the depth sounder as it gets considerably shallower closer to the restaurant end of the jetty.  You will get electricity, water and good showers from the hotel section of the business. They supply daily weather reports, and juicy meals with some of their specialities being grilled, fried or stuffed calamari or choose grilled Octopus.  There are amphora to be seen lying on the sea bed within swimming distance.

The third restaurant is located on the eastern shore of the bay halfway down and is called "Denizkızı" (Mermaid).  They have a jetty which is also used as a swimming platform, with electricity, water, hot showers and toilets are available.  The restaurant also has off-shore mooring buoys you can use to tie to.  This side of the bay is often affected by the prevailing westerly's and can build a bit of a swell.  So if you want to use the restaurant then take a buoy  or anchor and the owner will ensure you are collected by dinghy whenever you want to go ashore and shower or eat.  The kitchen mainly offers a variety of fresh caught fish, traditional Turkish dishes with grilled or fried meat, and of course meze starters and dessert.  Coffee or liqueur are complimentary.
